The Placement Department at Guru Nanak Dev University was established in March 1998 with the objective of facilitating meaningful career opportunities for students by connecting them with reputed organizations in both the public and private sectors at national levels. In 2022, the department was renamed as the Directorate of Placement & Career Enhancement, reflecting its expanded vision and broader commitment toward holistic student development, employability enhancement, and industry engagement. Since its inception, the Directorate has evolved into a dynamic and student-centric platform that not only focuses on placements but also emphasizes career readiness, professional grooming, and skill enhancement.

It acts as a centralized placement and career facilitation body for students of the University Main Campus and Regional Campuses of Guru Nanak Dev University, ensuring equal access to placement opportunities and career support across the institution.
